# v0.1.9 — May 22, 2026

<Badge>Latest</Badge>

**New**

* CPU utilisation gauge — `process.runtime.cpu.usage` (%) polled every 30 s. Uses `/proc/self/stat` on Linux and `ps` on macOS/BSD for a zero-dependency, subprocess-free implementation
* Commit SHA auto-detection — `service.commit_sha` is now attached to every span, metric, and log without any configuration. Resolved from `GITHUB_SHA`, `HEROKU_SLUG_COMMIT`, `RENDER_GIT_COMMIT`, `FLY_APP_VERSION`, `RAILWAY_GIT_COMMIT_SHA`, or `git rev-parse HEAD` as fallback
* `!defined?(Rails::Console)` pattern — the recommended way to silence SDK startup noise during `rails console` sessions without disabling telemetry in the server or workers

**Improvements**

* Puma cluster mode / fork safety — `Process._fork` hook (Ruby 3.1+) restarts all background polling threads (memory, CPU, connection pool) inside each forked worker automatically
* Connection pool poller now uses `connection_handler.retrieve_connection_pool` on Rails 7.2+ to avoid the soft-deprecation warning on `ActiveRecord::Base.connection_pool`
* Memory poller reads `/proc/self/status` directly on Linux instead of spawning a `ps` subprocess — works in minimal Docker containers without `procps`
* All background poller threads are marked `abort_on_exception = false` so a transient poll failure never brings down a worker
